You might also want to consider thermal gaskets to both throttle body and intake manifolds junctions - should make a small difference to IAT's.

I guess I need some drastic changes like bigger intercooler.

1.1 bar mate .. 50c+ after 3 pulls .. very reliable air charge temperature gauge [thumleft]

Taken from the manifold .. runner one [thumleft]

@2mad, What did you use to monitor temp? I am wondering if electronical thermometer from electronics shop will be fast enought to show changes of temp.

@greddy .. ive had many act (air charge temp) gauges plus a very expensive autometer air temp gauge .. and i bench tested them all against each other .. :thumleft: ... my findings are spot on .

that's the difference between berk and the cheap ones... restrictive at best, some are bad enough that the wastegate flapper hits them.

But I think WG is supposed to hit DP? It hits stock DP as I saw marks on it. I had a DP that was fat like Berk and WG was not hitting it and so it opened too much and stuck open.

wastegate valve is not supposed to hit the dp

Here is the stock downpipe and you say WG is not hitting it? I doubt it. You can still see the sign where it was hitting.

yeah, it clearly has been, doesn't mean it should do that though..

I'm not aware of any turbo/dp combination where the DP has been purposely designed as a mechanical stop for the wastegate.

If it doesn't hit, it would open even less which means less flow through the wg.

If it hits (the dp) its not opening fully restricting wg exhaust gas flow.

Then my question is why Toyota designed the DP like this? :/

Your IAT calibration must be wrong. 100C is too much temperature.Check the cold intake pipe to the touch. You would burn your hand if you had 100C on the pipe.
You should be able to check the IAT on hot water (dont blame if you break it though 8-[ ), never heard of an IAT gone by say water injection.
