Fitted a new steering wheel and started to play with engine kill switch. Damn I hate electrical works...

Little update.
We went for a tune yesterday. Everything was going perfectly until we started to tune at full throttle. I noticed that even boost was set to ~0.7bar, after ~4.5k rpm boost started to raise to ~1-1.1bar. This is probably because of a hybrid CT20 turbo which had bigger cold side wheel. So the WG now does not have enough flow. And then tuner saw that AFRs started to lean our at this boost with my 440cc injectors.
I had two options. Take off the turbo and port a WG or fit bigger injectors and make higher boost. Of course I chose second option. Problem is that my main racing event is on next Friday and I still have many things to do.
I started to give up, but luckily I found Rev3 540cc injectors here in Lithuania! So I bought them today and will be fitting them tomorrow. Later, I will take a spare rev1 fuel rail and will bore it. Now I just don't have time for it...
Also, today test fitted window net. I won't be able to wave hands for my fans now, how sad

Did my first crash yesterday... Damn that was painful, for a car, not me.
It was auto-x track so was going first time in it. It was 12th of 13 stage of a day and after fast straight (~3rd gear redline) followed 90 degrees left turn. It was too much speed, then trial braking, then snap oversteer and going sideways to the 15" kerb... We jumped to the air and then on a ground hitted a stone. Luckily car did not start to roll over.
And here is the result of this my stupid optimism...
Broken wheels, rear hub, all rear right side arms, damaged subframe and even body deformated and hell knows what more I will find.
P.S. My camera card was already full and I don't have this onboard But there will be some from other stages

Aww crap
After all that money and effort spent on that shell.
At least you can transpose your mechanicals into a new one. Did you have insurance cover for track?

Nightmare, hopefully it'll be able to be jigged straight enough to use, would be a shame to have to scrap that cage with the shell.

Re: Track car with a low budget | Powered by Adaptronic
Shell will be straightened, suspension will be changed and I should be ready to go again.
But still all this time spent on working with a car...
No insurance is valid on a race.
Here is the onboard of one stage. Best time overall.

Re: Track car with a low budget | Powered by Adaptronic
One more onboard from go-kart track I know, it was too much sliding, but it was first time I was in a car on this track and one part of new surface was very slippery.
However, best time overall

Re: Track car with a low budget | Powered by Adaptronic
That is some excellent driving. Really hope you can get the shell straight again
Re: Track car with a low budget | Powered by Adaptronic
Thanks Dad says that it should take around couple of days. Now I have to find measurements of the body, give a new (not damaged) front wing and a subframe with all the arms. Then they will try to straighen it. At least I have all the spare parts.
And couple more videos for your judgment
Best time overall:

Would be best time, but I hitted 2 cones, so +10s.

I have to say when I was on 16" and not semi-slicks, when it was a stock seat, it was much more easier to drive in auto-x. but of course now it's better on high speeds.

Re: Track car with a low budget | Powered by Adaptronic
Did some progress finally. Front is straight now (hopefully it will drive straight as well). Next week work will be done with rear.
At the same time I did some modifications with front fenders.

Holy crap you came round that corner hot .. glad your ok .. fingers crossed the car lives to fight another day
Re: Track car with a low budget | Powered by Adaptronic
Finally car is straight Luckily wheels were repaired as well as I wouldn't make any use of 2 different width wheels. Went for a drive and it looks like it's going straight
But still I have some problems. Something with fuelling was screwed up after crash. When I am on WOT, it looks like something is holding car back. It looks like there's not enough fuel. On half throttle car runs well. So my first guess is that fuel pump filter which was not holding well, fell off and pump got some trash from the tank and fuel filter got clogged. I hate taking fuel tank off, but I will need to...

Remembered good old times yesterday in an auto-x event
It was a very close fight and I was 1st overall after 3 runs, but at a final 4th run my competitor was amazingly fast and I made a mistake which dropped me to 2nd place in RWD and 3rd overall. Anyway, it was much fun
Here are some videos of that day:
1st run (many mistakes)

3rd run (also with couple mistakes)

Finally I will try to use race car for purpose
I was thinking for a long time and decided to give a new challenge for me and my car. I registered to our time attack event race session. First real race for me are comming on September 12
Hopefully my car will handle 8 laps race at 3.5km lenght track.
I will be participating in a highest class and I don't expect to finish among the leaders, just want my car to handle it so I could practice and be more competetive
Wait for the onboard! It should be much more interesting then those from Auto-x events...
