Love/Hate Relationship with my curvey rear....

Post by SteveH »

So, just removed and sold the spoiler from Rev 5 with the plan to put a cabon spoiler on the rear (don't judge, I like them!).

My problem is......the curves! I saw someone mention the 2 looks like a cockroach with no spoiler, and I have to agree. After spending hours looking at pictures, my car at different angles and videos, I think the problem is the curved drop off on the rear of the boot, but also, the curve inwards on each rear panel.

Soooo, I was wondering has anyone been able to get around this? I know these cars can look awesome without a spoiler via a TRD kit, but money isn't there for that just yet!! Do people think getting bolt-on arch extensions (not over-fenders) would help square up the rear end?

Please tell me it isn't just me!

Too add to this, I've been toying with the idea of getting the side pieces from a Rev 1/2 spoiler and attaching them just to box off the sides at least.

Thoughts?

Anyone have any pics of a Rev 1/2 without the main spoiler attached, and just the side pieces?

Jesus, that was quick! Yeah, looks weird. Especially from that angle. The lines just don't work.

Ideally would love a TOM's Upper spoiler. For me, I think it suits the 2 perfectly

I saw that, but I just wish it was bigger! It's nice, but I think it should be a bit taller and wider.

Big fan of ducktails. Also considering a Bomex or Kei Office as well

I recently removed the side bits off my Rev 2 in preparation to fit a Rev 3 spoiler and bootlid, it currently only has the middle part of the Rev 2 spoiler on it and strangely I think I prefer it without the sides.

Haha, yeah to be fair if I didn't have the rev 3 lights I would probably keep it like this.......

Excuse the jiz marks on the side, get quite excited over my car sometimes \:D/

What I was actually trying to visualize earlier was the above but without the lower spoiler and some sort of thing to raise it to the same height.

The Rev 1 does look cool without sides!

Thanks for the Gallery link Martin, really nice having a wide range of pics in the same spot.

And ads, DAMN. That is F'ing goregous!! That is really close to what I had in my head. With my car being black, I think it could really work. Thanks a lot for sharing!! Expect some PMs man!

Was otherwise considering a standard Rev 3 spoiler. I really liked it on a previous black 2, some food for thought. Thanks all
