Hi Rob, tear drops are not the best but okay condition. Will be having them reconditioned.
Will be using standard silver, but have read somewhere the original colour is more light grey rather than silver. But I am not to keen on the original colour.

Here is a pic of an original '89 SE teardrop wheel. It has a polished satin finish, with light charcoal grey teardrops. They are pretty much the same as what came on my usdm '89 SC.
By the way, keep up the good work. The car is looking great.
Or, since this place doesn't seem to want to let me post a pic, you can copy and paste the following url into a new window to see the pic at my Carpron site. http://www.carpron.com/multisite/v/Uplo ... dc093d6167[/url]

Fab, it's worth mentioning that the JDM SC had diamond polished wheels.

They look great, are they original or have they been refurbished?

Those are original. They were on an very low mileage, all original SE located in Hong Kong.

Another engine update, its coming together nicely. The s/c, inlet manifold and other aluminium bits have all been soda blasted and degreased.
Head fully stripped, degreased, valve seats reground and cams reshimmed.
Every single part degreased and checked.
All brackets, pulleys etc. painted in black engine lacquer.
All new belts installed

Re: Superedition project part 1 of 3 completed ~ Pic Heavy ~
That looks like a cage that David Hawkes has had made? There was one in my 1.5, which he owned when it was still a Supercharger and one in GUB I believe.
Re: Superedition project part 1 of 3 completed ~ Pic Heavy ~
Was going to say the same thing. Its a custom made one I believe.
The one on GUB I sold a long time ago and this is very similar. So I guess David had it made by the same company, can't be 100% on this as I got this one off Neil, who I think bought David Hawkes old SC with this included

Lol! That's the one that I had in the Supernail then. I sold the car to Neil when the family business fell apart. It's the original. David then had another made for GUB.

Re: Superedition project part 1 of 3 completed ~ Pic Heavy ~
The cage was very well made. Obviously a compromise on a full set up, however for a car that was used on the commute, it wasn't too intrusive. It also made the harnesses much easier to fit than that on my previous Mk1s!

Hope you're gonna keep those wheels nice & clean when you start using the car Imran
Must say they don't look over fiddly to clean though

Well looks like once the car is finished it will be on sale. New owner would need to keep the wheels clean.
Re: Superedition project part 1 of 3 completed ~ Pic Heavy ~
Next up is recondition of the driver side Recaro seat.
The base did not have the seat diaphragm and the form was split and looks like three bars had been welded to support. So I managed to find a good used condition one and replaced:
originally:
Now:
Next was the head rest, the original had what looked like burnt lines and a 2 threads on the mesh was cut:
A good second had one was found -
Here is how the top of the seat looks like,
On order is a new outer backrest foam from: http://www.capitalseating.co.uk/product ... id=&rid=61
and going to take the seat to these guys who are based in Denton to fit: http://autotrimltd.co.uk/

Oh dear, that's sad
Not suitable as a family car of course, now you have your little person
Will be a nice purchase for some lucky enthusiast
