I've seen a Fujitsubo Legalis R for sale locally that has come off a Rev5 NA. Here's a picture of it:
Now, I've been doing a little Googling on this exhaust, and there's two different versions - the one above and this one with a split backbox and some weird pipe configuration where it wraps around the front of the silencer:
From what I can tell, the one piece silencer dual exit version is the Turbo version, and the odd looking dual silencer dual exit version is the NA version. You can probably see the issue here - the one that I'm looking at is off an NA, but has a one piece silencer.
So, is what I've written above correct? If so, that would mean that this exhaust has been adapted to fit an NA. Are there any downsides to that?

If you're wanting it to fit an N/A, I don't see much of a problem!
That lower design looks daft.

I know, I really dislike it. It would look terrible with the rear bumper grille removed!
I would assume that if the single piece one is indeed an adapted turbo exhaust, then it will be a bit louder on an NA due to turbo exhausts generally having less silencing as the turbo is using energy from the exhaust flow which essentially makes it act as a silencer. Would there be any downsides performance wise on an NA? Or is it just a case of if it fits, it's OK?

Looks like what you say is correct according to the website photos.

Re: Fujitsubo Legalis R exhaust - NA vs Turbo differences
Thanks for those Nic.
As it's local and very reasonably priced I'm going to give it a go. I'm not sure how it's been adapted to fit an NA, I can only assume it's got some kind of custom decat section to fit an NA.
Looking at the specs, the pipe diameter on the Turbo is 76.3mm (3inch) and the NA is 60.5mm (2.4inch) - IIRC, the NA downpipe is 2.5inch diameter - is that going to affect performance at all?

If it has been modified to fit an NA then it should have the same flange as your downpipe. Fitting a large bore exhaust on an NA could actually lose you some performance.
Re: Fujitsubo Legalis R exhaust - NA vs Turbo differences
It will be considerably louder on an n/a. It was whisper quiet on my turbo but after the V6 conversion it was annoying the neighbours and myself. It had to go!
Re: Fujitsubo Legalis R exhaust - NA vs Turbo differences
I'll see how it goes. Maybe this is your old one uglee?
I can always sell it on and get my money back if it's no good!

Re: Fujitsubo Legalis R exhaust - NA vs Turbo differences
Does anyone know of anyone on the forum has the 'proper' NA legalis r?
Re: Fujitsubo Legalis R exhaust - NA vs Turbo differences
I picked it up last night. It has a reducer section, and looks like it should fit on no problem at all.
Previous owner said it was a bit too much for his commute, so it sounds like it might be a bit loud!

Would be Interested in your experience of the legalis once fitted to your car Gazza, whether it's just loud or a ASBO loud
Was thinking to fit one of these to my Dads V6 like kelvin had
Re: Fujitsubo Legalis R exhaust - NA vs Turbo differences
I'll let you know. I might be fitting it this weekend, not sure yet.
Re: Fujitsubo Legalis R exhaust - NA vs Turbo differences
A little modification was required, but it's on.

How much modification was needed and where did you take into be done

The flange had to be cut and replaced / rotated. Whoever modified this exhaust originally did a bit of a poor job. They must have modified the downpipe on the car it was originally fitted to as well as the exhaust to make it all fit
Took it to Elite Direct in Rainham this morning, cost an hours labour to get it modified to bolt straight onto an NA car and fitted to my car.
As for loudness, I can't really judge yet. It sounds great up to 4kRPM, I've not have a chance to take it any further than that as it's all 30-40MPH from Elite to work.

^^ lol nice pic
Re: Fujitsubo Legalis R exhaust - NA vs Turbo differences
I had to check and see if it did do that. Purely scientific, of course.
