Has anyone had any experience with these guys as far as tuning? I want a tune up on my Link G4 Storm. Martin who I went to before doesn't seem to be available.
I need someone to sort my idling when warm, so doing research on mappers

never had any work done myself but they are/were big in the skyline scene, been in the game a long, long time
if they can knock out 7,8,900+bhp skyline builds a simple map tune shouldn't be any issue at all

Re: Abbey Motorsport
I would read some reviews as I know a few people that took their skylines their ant wasn't happy afterword
Re: Abbey Motorsport
Take any advisories of stuff that needs doing (I.e oh we saw this and this was worn) with pinch of salt / get second opinion.
Very knowlegable though and well used in skyline / 350z scene

Why do you say that? Martin also had good reviews and he does know his stuff, I mean he's put a R35 engine in a S15. While my car is good on boost. He hasn't mapped the car to be good as a day to day car.
The things to take for granted on OEM like when the SMIC fan comes on it not feeling like it wants to stall.
I've tried calling messaging him nothing, plus I know he's read the WhatsApp messages.
I went to Martin Battye because I heard he was second to Ryan. Not impressed and he gets defensive when you ask him about these points.
I'll will deal with him later but in the mean time I want a smooth running car.

what power are you running? do you use the car as a day to day car??
also, the lack of communication would put me off using him completely.
Re: Abbey Motorsport
I'm only running around 360bhp at 1.3 bar until i get a 4 bar map sensor. I use it when i feel like a drive, i've got a £600 1.4s civic as a run around car.
Yes very frustrating

Re: Abbey Motorsport
Very well known company. They are in this months Banzai magazine for tuning a Nissan Juke.
Re: Abbey Motorsport
Yea, that's why i went with him because of his knowledge on Link. He mapped TFS car when he had it

The exact power figure a friend has in a 3sgte wih a link G4 and his drives beautifully, i'd get on the phone to trading standards if he's gonna continue to blank you etc....appalling behaviour!

Re: Abbey Motorsport

http://www.fctuning.com/

Edit: After some googling, maybe not

What did you find lol?
Re: Abbey Motorsport
You could try http://www.tdi-plc.com/
Not cheap, but very good, and they use a hub dyno, which is much better than a RR.
Cheers,
John

Re: Abbey Motorsport
I think I would be looking for someone with experience of the 3sgte to be honest.
Perhaps worth getting some opinions on the gt4 OC also?

Re: Abbey Motorsport
I cannot believe how difficult it is to find someone, I'm going to go a have a chat with Mark at Abbey Motorsport before I have an work undertaken
Mark does have 10 years experience with Link. I'm just going through feedback on the net with everyone. This is why I hate taking my car somewhere different from PW

this is why i hate standalones in general now
Re: Abbey Motorsport
Yea you take soo much for granted with the OEM ecu. Then the siren of more power comes a all change.
I'm sure it will be fine in the end, how was the apexi fc when you had it on your old car?

Re: Abbey Motorsport
perfectly fine. no issues.
even when i was running a tooth out on the cambelt in addition to adjustable cam gears and cams!
once cambelt sorted, could drop the idle lower.
is it warn starts that are the issue?
like when getting some petrol etc?
or general warm running?
perhaps the warm start up settings havent be adjusted properly. ie its dumping way too much fuel on a warm start.

Re: Abbey Motorsport
If finding someone skilled about mapping 3S-GTE's is difficult there... Finding someone at Spain with the same level is nearly impossible.
That's the reason i might travel with my car up there to be modified by the best MR2 specialist in a few months.
Cheers!
