I'm back!

Post by tmwsccsh »

Good afternoon,

Well, about 10 years ago I had an unfortunate incident in my MKII that saw it written off and I left the forum as I replaced with another make...

Tuesday next week I take delivery of another so I have returned.

Have bought a partial non-runner to have as a spring project - looking forward to it actually.

She's just going to sit out front on the drive until then but I shall check her each week to make sure she's still Ok.

It's a 1991 G-Limited T-Bar.

Will post pictures in due course...

Right, so went over to see her again today and hand over the money before she is delivered on Tuesday.

So the list of things to do are as below:-

- Rust patch on bottom of drivers door.
- Leaky T-Bar.
- Drivers Door Handle loose at top.
- Battery goes flat after around 30 minutes (so Alternator maybe).
- Drivers seat bolster.
- Electric Aerial.
- Wing Mirrors won't adjust electrically (but do fold in).
- Dent on front passenger wing that has cracked the paint.
- Bubbling on rear-left spoiler part on rear-wing.

On the positive side the drive is really good - smooth engine, pulls well and the auto box is seamless.

Looking forward to getting her and making a start on the above - T-Bar leak first - had the same issue with my old one so know what to do with that straight away, then the drivers door handle.

Ooh no - not spending that much on new seals - will start with a clean, a good look at it and the old eccentric rod kit (or whatever it's called) as that's what sorted my old one.

Aerial will be low on the list thanks at this time.

But one day... :-)
