As above really, I have a set of stainless dial faces, The needles have to be removed to fit them, Now I have had needles off before and it's such a hassle, is there a sure fire way to re-attach them without having to adjust the speedo on the move?? A way to keep the little spindle in place??
advice welcome, cheers,
Ryan.
Are you sure mate .. honestly the needles are not removable .. the faces just slide (ish) in .. promise mate .
I've done this many times .. promise shep .
I had black dials .. then red then white 3 times (long story) .. no
need to remove the needles .

Hmmm, i will double check but the holes look too smnall for the middle part of the needle to go through, the dial face is steel as well so no give in it at all. I'll find out one way or another tomorrow

no no they will fit, they are the exact same shape as the stock dials, But the stock dials need to come off and these go in their place.
same as these
actually, looking at them now the needles will deffo have to come off, so back to my original question
IIRC, Speedhuts are the only dials that 'slide' over the needle without removing them.
I had lockwood dials years ago, and had to remove the needles for them.
Proper pain in the ass resetting them,
There is no easy way unfortunately bud.

aw man, I thought that I had real bother with this the last time I took the needles off I'll just have to chuck them on, bit worried about the fuel one as my fuel light doesn't work, just have to stay off boost until I've learned where the gauge will sit now

the problem is that once the needles are off, the spindle they attach to can move around freely, I don't know how freely or if they are on a spring or what. Last time I did it the rev counter was ok but the speedo wouldn't register any speed until i was doing around 30mph, and even then it was waaaaay out.

the black part of the needle is far bigger than the hole in the fascia, they will deffo have to come off I will try not removing them first, will report back tomorrow night, most likely pi$$ed off and in a crap mood

Maybe dremol the fascia hole a bit bigger .. dont pull the needles.

That's one way to do it I guess, although I reckon it looks far better though without the hole bigger than the center black bit of the needle.
Needles should be positioned with the ignition on, not resting against the pegs. Take accurate pictures of where they sit before removing them, and you *shouldn't* go far wrong.
