[Mk2] [NA] After ditching the nitrous idea......

Post by BALDYMONSTER »

A quote for a complete nitrous kit with progressive management safety features and bottle heater coming in at 3k odds!

I've decided to go down the original route of fittings a turbo unit box and driveshafts.

I have the full engine there but need to source box and non Abs driveshafts.

Once done who would recommend to fit?

So far rouge motor sports seem to be top of the list?

Any other suggestions?

^^Highly recommended. Known Peter 6 years now, and wouldn't take my car anywhere else.

Top guy and knows MR2s inside out, down to the last nut and bolt.

Are you referring to when you couldn't find an address for Peter, when you rushed to his aid to send him my cracked block a few months ago?

Peter doesn't have a finished website (under construction), he's contactable via PM on here and mobile phone 07710648257.

Nope, had no issues finding an address :-k

The engine had nothing to do with you. Funnily enough the chap it was for delivered his car to the same address the engine went to! #-o

Thanks for dragging it up though!

Baldy phone Peter he will look after you :thumleft:

The engine did have something to do with me, as it was my block!

2 blocks arrived at Peter's.

1 for me and 1 for another customer. The one you sent was for the other customer.

The blocks got swapped, and bored to suit the pistons. I ended up with the block that you sent.

I had the engine number of the block I was supposed to have (before you sent yours)

The block that was cracked had a different engine number to the one I was originally going to have, so thanks for sending a knackered block. Well played.

That is odd, as far as I'm concerned, my engine is sat at the couriers. :-k

So, no denial that the block was cracked then. Just a reply as to whereabouts you think the block is....

Peter fetched it from the courier, as you sent it to the wrong address.

Nope no denial. Engine was sent as a long lock, unknown failure. Peter was fine with it.

Had you paid me money for it, or had any dealings with me about it then I might care. As far as I'm concerned all that was needed were the main caps.

The fact plans changed and you ended up with what was known to be to some extent a damaged block has nothing to do with me so quit the petty blame game.

Nice professional attitude.

Money was paid. £60 courier fee for a scrap block.

If all Pete required were the main bearing caps, would you not remove them and send them to him rather than send him a block on a pallet and let him remove them himself?#-o

As an MR2 specialist are you not aware that main bearing caps are specific to the engine they came off?

Due to tolerances you can't use bearing caps with one engine on another.

The place for this is on TRADER FEEDBACK - not on a members thread asking for help.

You know what I hate about forums on the net

Grown men bickering and giving it the big'un from the safety of a keyboard instead of actually having a face to face sit down and sorting it out.

Pathetic.

I agree with your decision but I have to say I am disappointed your not going down the Nitrous route - we haven't had a big nitrous N/A on here for ages - Dales was the last one I think and that was years back. Good luck with your turbo transplant :thumleft:

If I recall, Dale kept running out of nitrous! Better off with a turbo mate :thumleft:

I do seem to remember him doing a top speed run on T.V. once something to do with nitrous and insurance? or did I get that wrong ? Sorry Baldymonster for filling up your thread with chat about something you aren't going to do!
