Hi, I am posting on behalf of a friend that has started having an issues with his rev 3 turbo.
As he describes the problem to me:
In 1st, 2nd and sometimes 3rd gear when boosting above 14psi the car will jerk between 3000-4000rpm and then will continue to boost fine. This does not occur in 4th or 5th. He says the jerk feels similar to fuel cut which he has experienced in other cars.
He recently installed an ebc in the car (Greddy profec oled) the jerk did not happen before the install however it records the max boost reached and it has recorded a reading of 17psi.
He has unplugged the tsvs but the vac pipes are not blanked off.
He has replaced his ignition leads but the problem is still there.
Any ideas would be much appreciated and I can get more info on the issue if needed
cheers
Ross

You need to block tvsv pipes if removed from the actuator.
Does the ebc have a warning feature??
Be sure that's not kicking in. (Ie warning is coming in too low).

Ok awesome, he is going to try blocking the pipes tomorrow
The ebc does have a warning feature and is set at 18 psi

Arh. Sorry I may have misread.
You saying he's disabled the tvsv by disconnecting the tvsv plug itself? (The blue plug under inlet manfold).
If so, aparently you don't need to block the pipes on a rev3+ if you disable this way.
So he maybe ok in that regard.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Car Jerking between 3000-4000rpm
if he's unplugged the VSV then that's all that needs done. No cutting pipes, why try and create problems and leaks Turn off the EBC and see if the problem is still there, if it isn't the turn the EBC back on but set boost to 12psi and then work upwards from there til the problem occurs.
Obv check for error codes but I reckon it's all down to the ebc fitting

Ok guys my friend has checked the EBC and everything seems fine.
Are there any other possibilities that could cause this issue?
