Generally the K & N stuff is the cheapest!
Larger Halfords may still have it. There are some alternatives -- eBay will throw up a few.

I'd do a search regarding oiled filters on mr2's. I could be wrong but I believe the general agreement is to stay clear of oiling and stick to dry type filters as the oiled one's clog up the MAF sensor. This might just be on the turbo's though.

On the rubber base of the filter there is a hole present.
Like where a hose should fit in or similar? Should I just blank it off.
The right angled pipe from the top feed that fits into the metal pipe is on but there is a smaller pipe in the same right angled piece sticking out for a hose of some sort.
Just block that as well?

hole on filter had nothing in when it was on my car, however i not sure that was correct.....even wondered if the sensor that goes into o.e. airbox should go in there.
the small hoses into the right angled bit used same set up a o.e. box (so one approx 20mm hose, then a smaller hose into the side of it
quick google found this - http://www.knfilters.co.uk/instructions ... 1_inst.pdf

I removed the black plastic box that sits above the panel filter.
Couldn't see any pipes or connectors from it so binned it.

The air temp sensor pushes into the little hole on the base of the filter, I had a custo pipe to move my k&n out to the vent
I blocked the other pipe just connected the ISCV hose
