My forged engine build cost around 2.5k all in including all machine work and labour in taking out and putting the engine back in. I had to buy a block and CT20B and bought everything new from Toyota (TCB).

Built by Simon at YVS, the only person that I would ever use for an Mr2, and my work van as well lol. :thumleft:

If you had the car for under 7 days, then you can get your money back, from the seller, go to C.A.B... :thumleft:

Maybe if it was a trader he bought the car from but not if it was a private sale.

I doubt you'll have many rights after 500 miles of driving. For me for instance 500 miles would be just after a month of purchase. Also if it's sold as seen and written on the reciept as well.

Either way Sorry for the problems OP, I don't know how technically minded you are, but if it was me I'd either buy block offered or buy an engine and drop it in for time being keep boost lower whilst you find out the health of the new engine as that will be much cheaper than an engine build

Correct.

With all private sales unless you were deliberately and intentionally deceived, Caveat emptor applies.

Hey it's ok I realise it's just plain and simply bad luck on my part. All I can do is get it repaired myself. I'll probably try to think about trying to buy strengthened internals so long as it dosnt cost to much.

If you guys where in this situation is there anything you could recommend part wise? I know you guys have some fast Mr2s but now I feel that my engine couldn't handle the power it had already so i I'm hesitant to put anymore into it. any pointers. could be a good opportunity while it's stripped

All you need is 8.0:1 comp pistons, a balance of all the internal parts and put together with new Toyota parts, nothing from ebay or China.

New pumps, bearings, seals, valves and seats recut, cams re shimed.

You will then have a new engine ready to make 400 hp with the right bolt on parts.

if rebuilding with forged bottom end might as well get the 5S block, no point spending money on a new 3S build for power

think this is gettin gout of hand, sounds to me like the poor guy just wants his motor fixed, while i agree with possibly chucking forgies in it I don't think there's any need for a 5s build

5S build wont cost that much more if you're going forged route but aye I totally agree in that fixing it back to stock will be far far cheaper
