IS200 sports alloy wont fit my car what size spacers

Post by mr2newbie »

Hi Guys quick question I bought some lexus is200 wheels to fit my mr2…

rear wheels are fine don’t touch or scrape the fronts are making a loud knocking noise, the wheel rim is scraping the suspension arm :0(….

what size spacers would I need for the front and would I have to get longer bolts, how do I judge if the existing bolts are up to the job.ive seen 5mm 10mm and 20mm spacers on ebay....will the original bolts fit.

I need to get the the car drive on the is200 wheel as i kept the originals for my next mr2, this mr2 is being sold as project car later in the month.

Thanks For your time

I ran 20mm hubcentrics on the rear with my old lexus wheels you'll need short flat wheel nuts too can't remember if I had a small spacer up front what size tyres are they?

Only use good quality hubcentric spacers that include a spigot to support and center the wheels, hubcentric spaces bolt onto the hub, the wheels then bolt onto the spacers. You'll need hubcentric spacers with 5x114.3 PCD and Ø60.1mm spigot.

You won't get them on there with the Lexus tyres, as they are too high a profile, thus the tyres rub on the spring seats. You can run without spacers, as I did for a while, but I then put 20mm on the rear, I still have these floating around somewhere

i used to run lexus wheels on mine

hubcentric spacers on the back i ran without spacers on the front very close to calipers but no problems

use original wheel nuts - flat you can get a full set from ebay,

205/40x17 front 215/40 x 17 rear

Some do, some simply use longer studs. As long as they have the spigot, they'll be fine. Stay well away from horrible "universal" spacers.
