New MR2 Beams turbo!!!

Post by samgpr50 »

Hi everyone,

So last night I sold my black mr2 in favor of another one. It has only taken me 5 years to claw it away from the owner but it was worth the wait. Unfortunatly it did break on the way home so is back with the previous owner (my brother) until I can fix it. I believe the alternator has gone due to it lighting the dash up like a christmas tree and then things shutting down one by one. Anyway I know you guys don't care about that and it's the photos that are important! Not got a photo of the engine just yet as it really is filthy but most of you will know it I think.

Special, rare and potentially very fast car. Have fun - hope you iron out the gremlins.

At last you've got her :-) well done young sir

But I'd be having words with the dodgy seller, re alternator

Look forward to seeing her at the next meet :thumleft:

Well it's not in my possession as it broke down the second time right outside his house!

Haha yeah I had stern words! He was more than happy to offer his drive "for as long as I want" I know he didn't want to sell it!

I should be there fingers crossed.

Well I made progress today. Managed to remove the alternator. Since there was no way I was about to remove the exhaust I took the inlet manifold off. Because I have had it off so many times for my brother it only took about 15 minutes to remove and the alternator came out. It has now gone in to be tested and rebuilt. Roll on Monday!

Also as an added bonus when I arrived at the car this morning my brother told me he had looked at the sticky caliper and fixed that issue.

Which spark plugs and gap are you using?
Have you got orange/brown rings on the COP?
What are your AFRs like?

Hi. Thanks for the reply. I've been a bit useless and not updated. It's now running perfectly after having 4 new coil packs.
