Post by Martin F »

Do you need an uprated fuel pressure regulator for 400 bhp or will the standard one work fine ?

Car is a rev 3 turbo. :thumleft:

Sorry guys, just read this. My car is still in the process of being built. However I'm aiming for a unstressed 400bhp with room for more much later on.

It is not just the stock regulator, it is the fuel pump, fuel flow pipe work. fuel return pipe work, injector rail, so many things need to be right to keep the engine safe. Are you piped up stock or closed head?

And how does the ECU control fuel pressure?

I am afraid you're right :clown: - typically the uprated FPRs are adjusted mechanically with no input from the ECU...you set a base fuel pressure at idle, then the FPR (generally) increases fuel pressure in relation to manifold pressure...so more boost = higher fuel pressure.

The stock FPR isn't even adjustable, so I can't see how the Link ECU would ever control fuel pressure.
