What in a very rough way is the normal gain in power going from 0.9 bar of boost to 1.2 bar of boost ?

Re: 0.9 bar to 1.2 bar
Stick a boost controller and change the boost from 0.8 to 1.2 bar.
Re: 0.9 bar to 1.2 bar
5-10 bhp?
Other good reason is it will lift up the boost limitation in low gear.

Re: 0.9 bar to 1.2 bar
More than that.roughly,1psi=10bhp.
So from 14 to 18 about 40bhp.
So from 14 to 18 about 40bhp.
Re: 0.9 bar to 1.2 bar
On my gen3 I got around 270bhp (at the wheels) with BPU and boost @ 1.2bar.
Meaning stock would be around 220 at the wheels?
And the 250 bhp advertised would be at the engine?

Dont forget you lose power over the years with parts not functioning 100% as they did out of factory

If you never service it maybe, in fact you'll gain power with a looser engine.
270whp is very good if on stock ecu circa 310fwhp, stock being 240fwhp
Re: 0.9 bar to 1.2 bar
Ok some good answers there .
I was just thinking what the power and torque will be as i am booked to go back to surrey rolling road on the 21/06/14 for another run .
Below is what the car made in Feb this year with 0.9 bar of boost and the below mods
T26 hybrid turbo
Full exhaust and de cat
HKS filter
0.9 bar of boost
The car now has the below
Greedy intercooler
Full exhaust and de cat
KO racing large filter and 3" inlet
+ 4 psi on the boost from 0.9 to 1.2 BAR
Turbo blanket and other cooling bits in the engine
102 ron fuel
At a guess i was thinking about 300-310 BHP and 180-190 torque .
It is more going there to check the fueling more than anything but would still be intersted to see what it makes

I totally didn't read the OP's post correctly.
Re: 0.9 bar to 1.2 bar
No i did wonder what you were going on about

Re: 0.9 bar to 1.2 bar
This is more or less the same as my set up bar the stage 2 hybrid turbo and 1.2 BAR of boost .

Is this true only for a CT26, or is it also true for (say) a GT30?

Only ct26, every turbo is different, a gt30 could be putting out 400 bhp at 1.2 bar, so would be giving you a lot more bhp per 1 psi over a standard spec mr2...
There is a lot more to it than that though
Re: 0.9 bar to 1.2 bar
Is that for a std CT26 tho or a hybrid CT26 ???

to be fair, i've read that it's more like between 5-10bhp per pound of boost, so i'd expect crappy turbos to be putting out the lower amount and decent turbos putting out the higher amount of power.
hence you making 290bhp at only 0.9 bar of boost.
Re: 0.9 bar to 1.2 bar
So we could be looking at 320 BHP ish then whith my set up ?

could be around that mark mate, few folk on here say the limiting factor is the turbo when going over 300bhp, then the fueling after around 320bhp.
Re: 0.9 bar to 1.2 bar
Ah ok so i may need to turn the boost down a bit if the AFR is out a bit .
Turbo should be ok i would think .
