[Mk2] [Generic] Power Steering Stopped Working

Stopped at the petrol station to fill up but when i jumped back in the car it felt like I had two front flat tyres. I noticed a p/s symbol on the dash was on, so realised that my power steering had suddenly stopped working. I checked fluid and fuses and they were ok, so was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction as to what to try next? Thanks.

Has it randomly come back on yet or still doing it? Try the old trick of putting the key in the ignition and turning it on and off about 30 times (not starting the engine, just as far as it will go to turn all electrics on and off).

Power steering relay contacts get dodgy mine used to do it, had a new one fitted eventually.
