I want to do a service on my 1994 JDM MK2 REV3 Turbo.
What grade would you recommend 10W30 or 10W40?
Is it true Fully Synthetic oil doesn't have to be changed as often as Semi Synthetic?

10w 30 is a bit on the thin side, 5w40 or 10w40 will be fine for a road car both fully synthetic, the 5w40 is more readily available in fully syn.
People who use semi syn would be advised to change it every 3k, fully syn will be fine for 5-6k id have thought.
Loads of threads on this and a million different opinions.

It all depends on what suits your needs, how you drive etc.
I currently use 10w 30 semi synthetic, runs very well

what are peoples thoughts on 10w60? Is this suitable for a tuned 3sgte?

No.
Perhaps I should explain. It is simply just too thick at 100 degree's It will be about 70% thicker than a 10w40.. It won't flow around the engine properly leading to premature wear.
The cars that use 10w 60 are generally specific. Some Ferraris and certain BMW's use 10w 60..
So I hope that explains
you want a 5w 40 or 10w 40.. "IF" you're running a highly modded 500bhp that is seeing very high internal temps then "MAYBE" you'd want a 10w 50 if you're using your car during lots of track days.
but 10w 60 is a big no no.

Flip down the drivers sun visor, it's printed there
10w30 springs to mind, but I'm not 100% on that.

Yeah engine lid says 10W30...
Really, I just want to make sure I put the right engine oil based on it's age, model and climate so the engine is kept healthy based on these facts...
Well it sounds like a lot of owners use 5W40 or 10W40 as 5W and 10W won't make a difference as it's mild to warm here anyway...I heard those numbers are based on below freezing figures anyway...correct me if I'm wrong.
It was really 30 or 40 figures I was interested to hear about.
And I definitely want the Fully Synthetic (Thanks Hez ) as 5K+ sounds more reasonable for servicing.
Here I found 3 good names and they are Fully Synthetic:
I figure 5L will be enough...any preferences guys if you were getting these for your tubby?

Millers CFS is great stuff, if you can afford it (and handle the extra power) maybe the Miller's nanodrive

OK I'll go with 10W40 Millers CFS this will be my 1st service so I will go with this so I can compare it in the future...
I will be increasing the power via SMIC and MBC will the NT oil be more sufficient?
Do you actually get power gains with NT vs the CFS oil?
Thanks

Yes, you can be the guinea pig!
I'm sure it will be all ok.
I'll be changing mine in about 2 weeks anyway.
