Powder coating rocker cover 3SGTE?

Just drill the rivetts out to clean it properly, then drill and tap to bolt the cover back in.

Would a better option (too late now) be to use soda blasting- I think they use soda crystals instead of grit, the advantage being that they are are water soluble and so cleaning afterwards is much easier?

Remembering of course, to pre-drill the bolt heads so they can be lock wired together after they've been tightened.

Don't risk it Scott- heard of too many engines killed this way despite pre-cautions being taken...either a new cover, or remove the cover to make sure. Not worth the risk

I had mine done and told the guy to makesure everythink was covered.

When I got it back it was full of grit!!!

I jet washed and brake cleanered down the baffles and used an air blower but there was still some behind the baffles.

I drilled mine of and pop rivetted the baffle plates back in place once it was all clean

so far so good. So did I after reading posts on here about it.

Thats why I spent so much time cleaning it out lol. Hopefully it wont give mr any future issues.

amazing! people agree with me then only been doing this for 20 odd years water or dry ice is the best way to go if blasting any engine parts

Why did I not see this thread...I would of gone down the paint route instead of powder coat.
Oh well...nothing ventured nothing gained. When I get it back, I will take some pics and report back with my experience when i remove the baffles.
It was a spare that I bought from Craig, not a lot of dosh to get it coated so not lost out massively.

Lesson learnt...do more research.
