Also uprated the fuel pump wiring, removed relay and resistor.

We always use a dead head fuel setup as its called so only the fuel being used by the engine goes through the fuel rail, We then fit a10 micron filter on the feed to the rail with a 100 micron filter on the main fuel feed to the regulator.

All the lines and filters must be blown through before final fitting.

Yeah it does sound like somthing trapped in injector as delphis are normally reliable. Ill have to strip the lines down and check them out and blow them through with my compressor. Ill also change the fuel filter.

Ashley where do you recommend i get the injectors clean at? Thought id ask you as you live relatively close to me?

Bob is the deadhead setup better than the normal setup then?

Thanks all! :

There's a few places that do it, location not so important as you can just post them off...I'll ask around and drop you a pm :thumleft:

Dead head is just different, not necessarily "better", I've heard it (convincingly) argued that you retain superior fuel pressure control with a through flow system, and if you are using a fuel cooler then the through flow system is better at keeping your fuel rail cool (as the through flow cools it). But, the deadhead setup does mean the fuel doesn't get as warm as it doesn't cycle through the rail continually.

FWIW a lot of top race cars use the deadhead set up, I can't see if having a significant impact on the issue you've got though. You should have a 100 micron filter on the inlet to your pump already (?), and then you're running through the stock fuel filter after that (not sure on the spec of that one)...so unless you've ditched one of these filters, your fuel is just as "filtered" before it hits the rail as Bob's description.

Is it worth adding an extra filter to the fuel system?

As long as you have a fine filter between the pump and the fuel rail then I wouldn't, seems unnecessary- think about how small 10 microns actually is...anything that get's through that is not going to jam an injector :thumleft:

That said- I don't know the spec of the OEM filter, I've got an aeromotive filter in mine, but I've also swapped out all my fuel lines for -08 as well...OTT unless you want LOTS of fuel

I just had a set of injectors cleaned and flow tested by a chap from the supra forums, his email is [email protected] and offers a quick postal service if you need it

UPDATE

Injectors sent off. The one which is stuck open is scrap! But i was sold these injectors as Delphi's and they are actually rochester injectors! So not too happy atm!

So need to either source a new Rochester injector or buy 4 new top feed ones!!!

Grrrrr!
