It was never permanent, or I never planned it that way at least
"Hard top" to me means having some sort of roof, it doesn't have one of those

Managed to get a sneaky shot of Phil testing said two wheel monster before he pulls the engine and fits it into his new wheels.
And its going to be a beast when you get it slotted home in this baby.
You and Phil have got your work cut out to get it ready for castle coombe
at the end of the month but its sure going to blow them away when you get there.

Definitely the next logical step

I did consider one however it didn't offer enough of a contrast to the 1er, which I absolutely love. For me it was either what I bought or a bike, unless I paid silly money for something. Wasn't prepared to do the latter for something which is essentially a toy.

Re: The journey of one man and his Mule(s)
He's bought my old car - but unfortunately I've not used IMOC in such a long while (last posted in 2005) that they deleted my username, so had to re-register!
Sorry that doesn't help you guys!

Ok, who's now thinking "He HAS bought another MR2!! "?
Picking her up on Friday
Westy related news: Engine fired up and purring nicely, so the double gasket approach has worked a charm. Belt and braces and all that Also, I've adjusted the ride height, as it was sitting low on the driver's side. Now sitting at 100mm at the front and 125mm at the rear (both sides), which is the recommended heights.
Yes, I will continue to work on it until the day the new owner (whoever he/she may be) comes and collects her
Re: The journey of one man and his Mule(s)
You did say it doesnt have a roof unless its a softtop mr2 with the roof permanantly removed, doubt that

Re: The journey of one man and his Mule(s)
Definitely not an MR2
In Westy news:
- Had a few anomalies related to water temps, turned out to be the rad cap wasn't operating properly. Took it off, cleaned off all the gunk (allowing a proper seal) and eased the spring back into life. Tested and temps are spot on
- Did a final fettle with the idle rev adjustment, as I'd noticed it dipped to around 600 after you blipped the throttle. Now turned up a little it idles nicely at 900 revs and doesn't drop way low after a throttle blip. Another
- The choke wasn't disengaging properly after I was releasing it. Cleaned and lubricated the mechanism, it now snaps back exactly as it should. I also adjusted the choke cable, to ensure it was at the right tension.
- Took it for a quick spin to test everything was working as it should and to see if adjusting the ride heights made a difference. The car does feel a little more stable, however the ultimate solution is to take it for a day at ProComp and get the full geo work-over. This would absolutely transform the handling, as demonstrated in a certain other car I went out in the other day
All in all it's another small evolution of the car. I actually thought to myself that it's to a point when I'm comfortable with it, just as it's time to move on. Isn't that always the way...
2 days to go... excited! Sorted it's insurance today. Fully comp for the full value of the car (which I won't list ), 5000 mile limit, breakdown etc cover - £301 all in
