1998 UK Rev5 N/A. Tein coilovers, Enkei wheels, JDM parts

Post by tezmc »

I've decided to sell my Rev5 N/A as it just doesn't get used enough since I bought an M135i.

edit to clarify: It's not a T-Bar, it's a sunroof model.

The previous owner (IMOC Member) had it fully resprayed in 202 Astral Black Toyota paint (original colour).

The wheels are correctly staggered Enkei RP-01. The fronts are 8jx17" ET35 and the rears are 9jx17" ET38. The front tyres are Toyo T1-R and the rears are Avon ZZ3.

I've had the car for just under 12 months now, and have done the following since buying it:

New Bosch S4 battery
Full service including TRD ignition leads
Front calipers refurbished by Bigg Red, full front brake refurbishment with genuine Toyota parts including caliper sliders, dust seals etc and ATE Super Blue DOT 5.1 fluid.
Alpine ipod head unit
Mongoose stainless steel exhaust with Japspeed decat section

The car is taxed until the end of May, and I believe the MOT is due in June/July but I'll double check this. The mileage is just over 121k.

The only bad point with the car is that the gear changes have become a bit notchy going in to 3rd/4th after it's been stood since January. I'm driving the car daily this week to see if it eases up any. There's also a crack in the spoiler blade on the right edge, but it's not too noticeable. CarBen Fibre Creations sell replacement blades for a decent price.

Modifications done by the previous owner, with a lot of money spent:

Raybrig front lights
3 point Sabelt harnesses
Tein HA coilovers and camber adjustable top mounts. The coilovers adjust freely, with the threads in good condition.
Grooved discs
Cusco front and rear strut braces
Momo steering wheel and boss kit
Oil pressure, volts, and boost red led gauges
Non fog light front bumper just fitted with amber JDM front lights
Smoothed electric mirrors
Rev 5 genuine spoiler
Genuine Greddy Gracer side skirts
PP rear spats
Import rear bumper
Aeroware front splitter
Full car has been undersealed
Black import roof lining conversion
Leather door cards from turbo in mint condition re-trimmed
TRD Duracon gear knob with new leather gear and handbrake gaiters
Short shifter
Custom pedals with matching foot rest MR2 laser cut
MR2 Anniversary Edition stainless sill plates
Red LED dash bulbs
Working push button start
Tinted rear lights with quad light conversion
Tinted rear windows
Import front wings with no repeaters
Smoothed rear light centre panel
Blitz induction kit with heatshield
Red engine hoses
All hard pipes and original strut braces powder coated satin black

Stacks of history and receipts, along with all mot's from new. 3 previous owners, with the car being bought by the previous owner from a family friend that owned it for approx 8 years.
All original owners handbooks
3 keys including master key and 2 fobs

Given it may have an issue with the gears, I'm pricing this at £1500

Here is the build thread on the car from the previous owner:

Cheers guys. Shame to get rid, but I'm going to be moving this summer and won't have parking for 2 cars. The plan was to turbo it until I bought the BMW :thumleft:

There's a boost gauge fitted in preparation for the turbo conversion, but it just reads vacuum at the minute .

Tez - very keen on the car, its exactly what I'm looking for.

Pretty happy to buy it based on the above pics, but, I wonder if you'd do me the favor of taking some pics of it dry and a pic of the crack in the blade?

Do you still have the original seatbelts?

Cheers,

coanda

No problem, I'll get some more photos this week. We've not had many dry days this year so far in Manchester though .

Yep, I still have the original seatbelts. I planned on refitting them myself when I bought the car but never got round to it.

That's great - many thanks!

I take it that the seat belts can come with the car?? :)

Are you free this weekend?

That's the issues with these modern BMs, they're great cars and really make you question why you have a second car. As soon as I got my latest 1 series I just couldn't see the point in keeping the MR2, as ridiculous of a car as it was

It's a cracking car you've got there, Alan put a lot of time and money into it.

Anyway, I'll shut up now. Good luck with the sale :thumleft:

Magic Beans: You're right there . Although I've got to admit I've really enjoyed driving the 2 to work and back this week.

Here are some dry pictures of the car, including the crack in the spoiler blade. Thanks to the Saharan dust it does need a wash again, and I'll be waxing it too before it goes.

Coanda: Yep the seatbelts come with the car, along with some unused Eibach camber bolts if I can find them.

Thanks Tez - I replied to your PM.

The blade isn't a problem, I can get it replaced in the near future.
