Hi all,
My licence plate has come away from its mounting after the two L brackets rusted to the point of no return.
Luckily I've still got the plate but I've been told by my local dealer that the metal bit that fixes to the nose piece/bumper is discontinued.
Is there an alternative?
I need to get the car moted and it's going to fail with the plate sat in the window rather than its usual position.
Double sided sticky tape and stick the plate in the 'Alfa Romeo' position on the front spoiler.
Have a look in my garage in the galley section, there are a couple of piccies.
Just make one out of ally, I did this on one of my old mk1's
Mk1b White T-bar SC 1987, Mk1b White coupe Jan90, Mk1b White coupe Jan90 (spares), Mk1b Mica blue T-bar Mar90, Mk1b Mica blue T-bar,full climate control,Jan90, 5 mk1's

How do you get it to stay like that?
Also, that engine is all kinds of nice
Cheers.
It is literally stuck on with double sided foam bodywork tape and has stayed stuck for a looong time. Only fell off the other day because I kicked it by mistake.
The engine is the beatch from hell and an utter PITA, I have moments of wanting to burn it.
Mine is also in the Alfa Romeo position like Chris'.
Mine is held on by two bolts through the plate and into the plastic of the bumper at the top.
Took about 5 minutes to fix and is as secure as the original mountings.
be sure to leave the bar of which the number plate brackets attach to in place though, I didn't refit mine and the front bumper plastic sagged over winter!!
When my front bar snapped due to being towed, thankfully I was able to have it repaired, didn't bother with the central brackets and had two lugs welded on
