Front end knock

Post by samgpr50 »

Hi everyone,

Got a really annoying knock on my two. I have already replaced the top mount the bushes, drop links and ball joint. I'm all out of ideas now. Is there anything else anyone can think of? Thanks.

If you're sure that no bushes have play in them and you've replaced everything else that could knock, you're left with one thing. Shocks.

I had a rear end knock that couldn't be pinned down for a while, replaced the shock with a known good spare and hey presto, no more knocks.

Yeah I guess I should look into trying to find a shock. There really is nothing else I can think of. Thanks for the help.

Same story here actually. I had a pretty major clanging when going over uneven bumps.
I had drop links and ARB bushes replaced for the MOT back in December, which cured it completely, but it came back within a few hundred miles. Keep meaning to ask the garage to take a look and I'll post back when they have.
Surely drop links and bushes should last a lot longer than this!

Sounds like they were Ebay parts and not from Toyota

I've had new drop links come loose on the strut bracket causing a knock.
