Rear left rattle

Post by -J- »

Anybody? any ideas?

The sound is coming from rear left. It's like metallic sound and you can hear it more when car is warmed up.

It could be anything, you haven't given anywhere near enough information to be able to help.

Is it happening when the car is stood still and engine running? Or when driving? If so at what speed? When driven over bumps? A rotational noise in time with the wheel speed? During braking?

The more info you give the easier it will be for someone to help, but "The sound is coming from rear left. It's like metallic sound and you can hear it more when car is warmed up".... could be absolutely anything.

Mostly in low speed like 10-60km/h. But not hearing it in high speed because exhaust noise. Also when I loose the gas pedal the sound goes off

Have you had a look at the manifold heat shield?

There was some side movement on wheel so I have to change the bearing first. Hopefully the sound stops. :)

Are you just changing one side? Best to get them both done at same time.

I was thinking to do that but they didn't have another bearing and they say it takes 2 weeks to get one. So need to replace just one now...

If it aint broke don't fix it.

I despair at the number of times people get sucked into replacing perfectly servicable parts. There are exceptions of course particularly with suspension parts which I agree with replacing in sets.
