Mk2 Car Cover - Waterproof - Recommendations?

Post by christiantimms »

Hi all,

Any recommendations for a waterproof mk2 car cover - ideally one which will stay on in wind, so with ties or something like that?

Cheers!

This is what i've got.. I have to admit It is quite good.. I do think it needs more straps as it does come loose in strong wind.

That looks ideal! Thanks Draven.

I'm looking on the web site for how to buy. Do you know what size yours was?

Is it worth having a cover for cars parked outside? Wouldnt it just trap moisture?

Not if you can buy one that is breathable.

If you do want an all singing all dancing one then they do become quite expensive!

Just wondering, mainly due to the fact that my car is sitting most of the time but parked on the street. I know you can buy covers that have cutouts for tax discs and such, but what about numberplates?

Mine is a custom one which are available on that site too. You can get one that is specifically designed for the MR2. :thumleft:

Click on pricing then choose Toyota > MR2 > £153.04

they aren't cheap but the Kalahari is £229.. now that is expensive

Ironically my only complaint is the bag you use to store the cover.. it is very difficult to get the cover back into it and after a couple of times the zip split. and then the bag fell apart.. The cover itself is fantastic no issue with that at all.

Mine has little vents just along the roof panel that lets moisture out. :thumleft:

Haha.. on a positive note it also helps deal with UV rays which would normally fade your paintwork..

 there is always a plus side.
