ADVISE on small rust bubbles on rear arch!

washed my car the other day and realised one of the rear aches is starting to rust slighty any ideas on how to treat it or is it to late ???

heres some pictures so they are not great..

hmmmmmm. probably not too late at all but i'd wait for dryer, warmer weather before doing anything investigative/exploratory. it should be a cheapish rescue and not too far gone - might have a welder cut a little bit out and graft on some new steel to tidy up but you won't know until it's sanded back really. if your arches look like that then please have a poke around in your sills (if you haven't already done so) and check those because generally speaking, that's where the real rot takes hold - rear sections tend to go first.

thanks JD.. everything else seems pretty good and rust free.. but ill have a good look when its dryer!.. and yea the rear tires are pretty much brand new! need more wheel spins ahahaha.. reason they look so clean is the auto glym Tyre dressing spray!!

I use the spray too, theyre not on Toms wheels are they? :lol:

noo they are on "jim head" wheels.. apparently the only mr2 in the country with them.. however i got some blitz type 01 cx going on the 2 soon! heres some pictures.. if you type in jim head alloys in google theres a very good picture of my car that the previous owner took!

Have you cleaned and brushed oil on/behind the arch lips, worst scenario is crap/mud build up and retaining the damp/moisture at this time of year. Are your arch lips rolled? sealed?

arches rust from the inside out, so will be worse than it looks once you've got the paint out of the way.. get it sorted sooner rather than later to prevent it spreading.
