Can anyone help as I have stated in the title I removed the inlet manifold to tighten my cam cover bolts and once I had replaced it when I start the car it revs really high can anyone tell me what I have done please I think it may have something to do with the black box that fits to the other side of the throttle soz if this sounds dumb

Re: removed and reinstalled inlet now the car revs high
Sounds like you have an air leak between throttle body and cylinder head.
Re: removed and reinstalled inlet now the car revs high
How come when I started the car without the inlet on it didn't rev high but just when up and down

????
Car won't run without inlet manifold.
I answered your original question:

Re: removed and reinstalled inlet now the car revs high

Ther is not a single internal combustion engine on this planet that will run without the inlet manifold attached to the engine.

Glad to be of assistance.
BTW. Some friendly advice.
I can see you're a new member, and judging by your question, the level of basic mechanical theory you display in terms of engine operation is bordering on that of my Great Dane. And she only has one eye.
If you want real help, which this forum is ALWAYS willing to give, then maybe the combined post count of more than 8000 over nearly 10 years on this forum of the two contributors that have tried to help you might suggest their knowledge exceeds that of yours.
Furthermore, one of those contributors has done nothing except work on MR2s 6 days a week for those 9 years.
So if you want to get your car sorted, maybe respond to replies you get with questions, or maybe try to explain things better. And hey, you never know, if you listen and learn, your car might end up running sweet again.
