Genuine vs patent ebay Ball Joints??

Post by RyanRs »

Is there any real quality difference between Genuine toyota lower arm ball-joints and the patent part ones as found on ebay?

I cant see the cheap ones being 'weaker' as they are such a safety critical component of the steering, however how long they last in comparison i dont know?

I bought the ebay ones.. They've gone after less than 6 months.

Branded afermarket are fine.

Unbranded indo-philipino-paddy field items in unmarked white boxes i wouldn't go near.

Genuine Vs Ebay unbranded parts?

Wouldn't even question using Ebay as a substitute for genuine Toyota parts.

I should change my above post, unless they were branded, better or equal to genuine Toyota parts, then I wouldn't go near Ebay crap.

100% agree. Branded non oem are usually absolutely fine and equal to Toyota (who usually get them made by the same brands anyway!)

I can recommend the Lemforder ones from ebay/Eurocarparts for the front (£13.50 each) and Camskill (blueprint iirc) about £33 delivered for the pair of rears.
