I know there's a whole list of options to get the old girl running again but with the intentions to keep her long term it seems appropriate to shell out for an engine rebuild.

What sort of costs am i expecting to see for a basic overhaul if the garage were to carry out all the work themselves?

This is the basics of what I had in mind:
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
Replace pistons with forged goodies
replace bearings
re-lap valves
replace belt/tensioner's

All components will be OEM apart from the pistons themselves.

I have no further intentions of going for high power numbers, Just a reliable 300 fwhp as its running at the moment.
