Be careful with Adrian Flux, I took out a policy with them. I insured my car with 5 years ncb they rang my old insurance company to confirm and admiral told them i had 4 years ncb a mistake by them.
Instead of telling me so i could sort it out they doubled my excess and removed protection from my ncb and didn't even bother to send me a letter or ring me.
I only found out when the policy ran out and i got my renewal through which said my ncb went from 4 to 5 years after many emails and sending them proof of my no claims i finally got my ncb back.
So i was driving around with double excess and the risk of losing my ncb all year and they didn't bother to ring me and tell me they changed my policy.
Just thought id let everyone know and one of these posts suggests stories of them changing their minds on policies after they have agreed to insure someone.

spoke to classic line again this morning, they explain that the rules have changed as of jan this year and now the car needs to be garaged
so as it stands only aib and aplan will insure me, looks like I may be going back to aplan who I started with 8 years ago when I first bought the car

Why wouldn't need2insure quote?
Re: what is the cheapest insurance co. for mr2 turbo's?
don't remember the reason they gave, possibly the same garage reason?
Re: what is the cheapest insurance co. for mr2 turbo's?
My FD is with them on a limited mileage "classic" policy, no requirement for garage.
Re: what is the cheapest insurance co. for mr2 turbo's?
don't you just love the consistency in insurance
half the time it seems to get cover you don't need to meet the requirements, just get the right person
most of them do seem to be saying the same though - garage now required for classic, might change next time you renew

Re: what is the cheapest insurance co. for mr2 turbo's?
this is all very worrying for my renewal coming up (although not till about august although i do have a garage.
Re: what is the cheapest insurance co. for mr2 turbo's?
most worrying thing for me is the lack of an agreed value now I cant get it on classic
Re: what is the cheapest insurance co. for mr2 turbo's?
did go back to aplan
only two companies where quoting me on a classic policy, aplan and aib, neither of which came with an agreed value and as the price was not much less than the modified policy I went with, I didn't see the point going with a classic policy anymore
so, selling the yaris, daily driving the two again
£538, 10k miles, 10 years ncd, £250xs
like for like on mods, buy it back if written off etc

I was told that having the car in a garage can increase your premium due to scrapes. I think sky told me that...

May 2015
Still in the garage...
..the only thing I can promise for sure is slow progress.
May 2015
just have this niggling thought that if I rip out the wiring, then the car will never get out of the garage again.
