I'm 24 with 2 years ncb and adrian flux quoted me £1500 on a lightly modified rev 3.

Sky wouldn't even quote me fully comp and £750 for TPF+F.
Admiral say the car is too modified for them to cover me. Not tried Chris Knott as i've heard they don't bother with under 25s.

So who else is there to try? A plan, anyone else?

I refuse to pay more than £1000, being under 25 sucks.

you could try some classic companies, i know the general rule is that you have to be over 25 but i had my very first car on a classic policy when i was 17, so there are companies who will do it, don't ask me who though!!! it was nearly 10 years ago!!!

I use Sky. Fully declare all the mods and it's about £600 FC or £450 TPFT. That's with 8 year NCD and I'm 34.

I sometimes think it's too much, but it must be all the mods.
January 2014
..the only thing I can promise for sure is slow progress.

May 2015
just have this niggling thought that if I rip out the wiring, then the car will never get out of the garage again.

Still in the garage...

carole nash, performance direct or flux direct, i'm just shy of £200 :thumleft:

performance direct will say it has to be a 2nd car although they don't check. they asked me and of course it was a 2nd car but they didn't dig any deeper about it.

yeah i live in a 0 crime area too, also, the car is garaged and it's limited miles, give those companies i mentioned a try though mate.

i see no reason why it can't be a second mr2, like i said, they don't dig any further than simply asking if it's a second car :thumleft:

Try living way further than Sheppy -it's almost beyond nowhere. It almost pains me to keep using Sky these days, but they seem cheaper than most for a similar policy. I've had silly cheap quotes, but the cover's not the same.

When I started listing all the mods on my car for the nice lady at Classicline she was just sort of like, "okay I get the picture" and I think it's just down as modified, which was nice.

spoken to a few this morning
aplan - phoning back
carole nash - wont quote on classic due to no garage
classic line - wont quote at all
need2insure - wont quote at all
performance direct - wont quote for classic on jap import
AIB - £497, 5k miles, £350 excess no agreed value
fluxdirect - £429 on modified policy, no agreed value
funny thing about flux direct though, when I gave my details he said "ah, I see you have had a quote from our sister company Adrian flux at £429"
I hadn't though, must have been through one of the comparison sites I did, I checked and the quote from Adrian flux was £1360
I also remember hearing stories of people taking out policies with Adrian flux then a couple of days later getting a call saying we cant honour that price so not that tempted to go with them at the moment
the no agreed value is putting me off any policy
