Have bought a Block Chek, the instructions say to put it in filler neck when car hot and with engine running.
When I take the cap off coolant pours everywhere. Is there any way round this or are they no good for MR2s?
[Mk2] [Turbo] Block test/sniff test - have to do it with engine running?

Do it from cold
Take off your filler cap, plug in the doo-dad then start the engine and let it get up to temp.

Don't expect conclusive results. I've found it to be the most unreliable test i've tried for HG failure and threw mine away a long time ago.

I'm gonna have to agree with peter, normally you get a build up of gases in the radiator and you sample that, but I've found that this doesn't happen in the two very well and when you create the vacuum it pulls up the coolent and ruins the test liquid.
When I did mine it never changed I tested the liquid in the exhaust and it was fine.
I nipped to my local mot tester and asked then to put the gas analyser in to the filler neck that was quick and simple
