[Mk2] [NA] Headlamp dropping (now with video)

Post by Davsurfa »

So I have a small issue that's a little annoying, when I turn my lights on they both pop up but the passenger side lamp drops about half an inch. I've tried using the manual adjuster on the back of the lamp but as soon as I turn them off and they go back down they reset and when they come back up it drops the half inch again. I have the sleepy mod which I've disconnected but when it was connected and my timing was good I could stop the lights at the top but when turning them on and off normally they still drop.
Any ideas why or better still how to fix this?

Gona watch this thread, i have exactly the same problem. Does yours sit full down when you turn them off? Mine springs back out an inch or so and wont sit flush.

Nah, mine sits flush when down. I'm gonna take the whole unit out and see if any bits are worn or damaged. I'll post what I find

You may find the arm slipping on the motor shaft. Either that of the motor is shot. They are easy to source :thumleft:
