I do like the idea of the extended boot, saves a whole lot of hassle,
i also like the apeture for the electric aerial, and the correct fuel flap with
built in sides..........in duraflex as well,
looks like a well thought out kit.

Cheers buddy, we chose the original kit carefully to ensure it was a good one and ticked all the boxes so very little fettling or modifications required but the guy who moulded it was a true old school craftsman. It also had the correct fuel flap and aeriel aperture so it made it easy and duraflex is a no-brainer for longevity and ease of fitting. Paddy already has a widebody fitted and it was his idea with the boot so all credit to him as this avoids cracking along the 'extension piece' line when opening and closing, it actually makes the kit around the same weight as the panels removed, so an extra bonus there.

I have to say that the quality is up there with the Neos kit (that Chris_9011 is selling) and the the Rob Brookes one and between myself and Patrick we've had experience of them both so I'm more than happy that this will look the part when finished.

Thanks also guys on the coluour opinions I have to agree with VGB that Cosmos Blue doesn't want to make it's mind up what it is and I think there's the rub (quoting the Bard on a forum, who do I think I am  ) It's the only issue I have otherwise I'd stick with it.

Anyone else think the blue is any good?

I really like what you're doing here, looking forwards to seeing the finished article. You guys thinking of making and selling these kits?

Good work :thumleft:

Good work :thumleft:
At the moment we're just sharing the cost and the production of the moulds Ash and once a couple are fitted and we're happy we'll take it from there. At the moment it looks good but unlikely to sell more than a couple a year, more viable to sell the panels for replacements I think.

I think Headcase is going to update his status to affliate shortly in any case so at least we'll be heading in the right direction.

Ah ha! So you've finally gone public!

Looks 'tres bon', 'tres bon' indeed!

As for this pic:
Image

Man that makes me want to go TRD... must. resist.

Cosmos probably doesn't look so good these days as the paint does dull. I think a good detail of the paint work (as illustrated by one of the lads on MR2.ie) and the lustre does come back.

Failing that I would go Rev3 Caribbean blue or 'Daytona blue' as on the 350z.

Will PM you about a catch-up. I said my new years resolution was to finish actually, start and finish the car this year! (that said, I said the same thing last year!)

GO ON ..... You know you want to Tris

Yeah, drop me a PM it's been a while since we met up buddy and get your finger out on yours. :D Seriously, thanks for the advise, the Toyota Caribbean and Azure blues are being seriously considered along with the Nismo one.

@Nic - Thanks buddy I'll add it to the list but I think the pearlescent element isn't something I want, the kit isn't exactly a shrinking violet and I think that would be too much in yer face.

@Brian - thanks again but Cosmos Blue is great when new and in the sun if I could find some way of contrasting wheels or trim t bring the colour out then I'd have no hesitation sticking with it.

@Matt - Stop teasing :twisted:

Ok so Pat's had the opportunity to hang the panels to see how good the fit was and if it looked right. I must say, you cant really argue with the pictures. \:D/

Front side view.

Nice lines.

My personal favourite.

It's impressive just looking at this as it is hung on and not fixed at all, you can see from thie picture below just how good the panel gap is. (Front N/S wing and bonnet from above)

He also had a chance to refresh my rather tired rev 6 quad light cowls by spraying them the same satin black as the diffuser is going to be.

I'm down there on Tuesday so I'll get a couple more pics then.

This is going to be one badass car when it's done. :thumleft:

Yes it is a bespoke item and has already been made and fitted to Pat's TRD Widebody.

I really want this to look good Tris but also not too 'Boy Recerish' if you get my drift. It is lowered far enough and I'll be sticking with 17" wheels (the Rays for the moment and then as it develops I'll look at some other rims) and it's lowered as far as it needs to go. I want it to look like an aggressive production car, a bit like the GTR which is wide and mean looking but totally stock so I'll be badging it with the Toyo badges and then of course a few TRD and the compulsory V6 :D

This is the underside of the boot, take a look at the webbing and you can see the quality of the kit. Awesome
