I too have tried both ball race and poly uprated shift bbearings and found the poly ones noticeably better because of the slight amount of give.

Where did you get the poly bushes for the shift cables? I have brass bushes fitted and it is hard to get reverse and go from 5th to 4th, the stock bushes were fine but fell apart when I took the cables off.

I too would like to know. I have the brass bearings with the TRD short shifter but a steadily deteriorating throw and would welcome the experiment. Also does anyone know if the can brass be replenished?
