My
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
'2 is currently without rear spoiler
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
(from factory)
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
Thinking of something different, wanting to introduce a 70s feel, as below
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
![Image](http://imageshack.us/a/img607/4197/m5hz.jpg)
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
So I'm favouring an experiment with an early
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
( all black rubber and smaller than later version) Saab 99 item
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
These are around for
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
£25
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
, so may get one and mock it up
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
?

** update december 10th
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
**
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
just bought one off ebay for
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
£15
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
- the guy was really helpful and sent me all measurements before I bought, looks pretty close to my bootlid dimensions
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
- hope I can do something with this
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
!

Update 20th december
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
:
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
So
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
saab spoiler arrives, black, very flexible rubber, has fixing screws underneath with screw mountings embedded in spoiler base
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
- looking about the right size
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
I rush out to the garage and voila! pretty near spot on
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
So I tape in onto boot for trial fit
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
- this is how it looks
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
REAR
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
before
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
![Image](http://imageshack.us/a/img248/7752/ex2z.jpg)
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
after
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)

)

before

![Image](http://imageshack.us/a/img254/2579/ex4t.jpg)
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
after
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
( NOTE BADLY TAPED DOWN
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
- WILL SIT FLUSH AT FRONT EDGE AND FRONT CORNERS ALMOST PERFECT
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
)
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
![Image](http://imageshack.us/a/img132/9765/ul3q.jpg)
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
obviously not as good as, but not a million miles away from this?
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
( Kei office, lovely, rare and beyond what I'm prepared to pay)
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
![Image](http://imageshack.us/a/img826/9333/30wi.jpg)

SIDE
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)

![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)

![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
after
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)

![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
FULL SIDE VIEW
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
didn't take a
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
'before' so here's the car with the spoiler
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
( badly
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
) taped on
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
- by this time it had started to drizzle, much cursing as the tape wouldn't stick of course
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
- important to note that as you see it now the top edge lies only just above horizontal, however when it's properly fixed in place the angle of attack does increase
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
![Image](http://imageshack.us/a/img826/645/31kt.jpg)
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
I think the black spoiler works with my car because it has original black sills and black rear spat trim
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
/ front splitter black rubber trim
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
- not so sure it would work if these parts of the car were colour coded.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
Fairly subtle I think.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
Other detail points
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
;
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
did try mounting further forward towards rear window in a similar situation to rev 3
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
, didn't appeal to me because it just didn't look right in that location, plus the base didn't want to sit flush, although it could be persuaded to do so without too much difficulty.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
see below
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
![Image](http://imageshack.us/a/img163/5219/fj8h.jpg)
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
finally.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
I want the option of returning to original and won't be drilling holes in a virgin Japanes
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
'G' base spec boot.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
If I do mount this spoiler I'm going to make some secure brackets to mount onto the fine threaded screw holes that are well embedded either side in the base
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
- the brackets will then slide adjust somehow to clip into the side edge of the boot.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY PHOTOS OF MOUNTING BRACKETS FOR SOMETHING LIKE A BOMEX DRIFT WING
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
?
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
JUST WANT TO SEE HOW THEY'RE CONFIGURED
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
( or suggestions for what would work are welcomed
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
)
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
I'll hold the centre section down with 3M double sided tape.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
I'll make sure it's up to the task of holding it down.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
(Let's be honest there's very little airflow to the spoiler anyway unless I start fitting an F40 style rear window louvre!)
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
So, what do you think about the look and whole concept
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
??
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
I'm not sure it turned out giving that 70s feel, but I like it more than I thought I would, it's a bit different
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
- Looking forward to your feedback
