So I figured today my old 2 has tolerated over 150,000 miles with me sadly thrashing about behind the wheel. Bought it summer '99 with 82,151 on the clocks.
I've spun it once and cursed it a few times over the years maybe but then I'd guess probably less than the women I've known over the same timescale.
Keep the wheels turning, great cars.

Re: 150,000 miles...
Well, a low mileage rev5 might be the way forward. I think I'm MR2 shaped by now and doubt I'll fit in anything else....
PS Just been watching last night my dvd of Rainbow live in Munich in '77... amazing playing!

you should get yourself a turbo ah man, munich is one of my alltime fave performances by any band ever, could you imagine being at that gig?? it must have been insane!!! NOBODY could match or even come close to Cozy Powells abilities back then!!!
Re: 150,000 miles...
Posts like this that make me hopeful for the longevity of my 82k mile rev 5
I almost broke it for spares but instead spent a grand on it - new cambelt, waterpump, tensioners, coolant, clutch, oils, filters, plugs, rear tyres and tax.
All in one month which was a bit of a hit to the wallet but hopefully as long as I keep the rust at bay I think it should be good for a few years yet

Re: 150,000 miles...
I remember seeing somewhere that a Rev3 NA had gone up to 250,000 miles. So at least you know it's not going bang yet

A fair way to go yet Brian.... Just run in.
PS. Sheppy.... That '77 Munich gig had already been postponed a day and still started over an hour and a half late as Blackmore came to the gig directly from an Austrian jail cell. Hence all the anger in the guitar destruction at the close. Fabulous set.

Nearly 232,500 miles now. More soon if I can get this trip to York sorted. Still juggling poss dates and hope to sort some options this week. It'll be time for it's 40th service when it gets back!

Mine has done 205,000 miles
Re: 150,000 miles...
My Rev 2 Turbo I bought in 1998 now has close to 133,000 miles on it. It had just 25,000 on the clock when I imported it.
Running original engine, clutch, gearbox and turbo etc. In fact all I've changed is the alternator(several times) other than regular oil and filter changes and ignition system parts replacement I've barely touched the car!

whaaaaaaaaaaat?!?!?!?!?!
that's highly impressive!!! is the car completely standard?? even if it is that's still some serious miles!!!
Re: 150,000 miles...
Pretty much apart from an apex induction kit and a Walbro fuel pump I replaced the faulty stock one with a few years ago. I tend to drive it relatively carefully (though spirited driving is never out of the question ) and it has spent quite a lot of time on motorways with few gear changes. Still I'm impressed too with the longevity of the clutch.
My parents have an old RAV4 which has just reached 230,000 on the original clutch engine etc which is unbelievably impressive - they've had it since new!
