First post so all new to this .
I am going to remove the dizzy and leads but does the car have Ignition timing on the dizzy ie can I my mistake change this when I remove / replace the dizzy .
The car is a 1994 Rev 3 MR2 turbo

If you remove the distributor you will need to redo the ignition timing afterwards. You could mark it up before you take it up with a blob of paint, but really you should re-time as you don't know if it's spot on where it is. Are you removing the whole distributor though, or just the cap? If you're just doing a service and replacing the cap & arm then the distributor won't move.
If you are going to redo the ignition timing then you need to put the ECU in diagnostics mode first, by connecting TE1 and E1 together in the diagnostics plug.

No just going to put a new dizzy cap and rotor arm in .
So this will not knock out the timing if im just moving them ?

Just to divert this slightly, how do you 're-do' your timing, and how do you know its right when done?

Brifge TE1 and E1.
Using a strobe gun, when car is warmed up and at idling, turn distributor til notch on pulley is lined up with 10 degrees BTDC.
Job done.

always a good idea to find the notch, and carefully pop some tipex in the groove.
try and use a very fine brush. if you go too mad with the paint/tipex, the thickness of it could be the difference between a degree or 2 of timing!
