'2 Green !

Post by Muffleman »

Hi all,

Quick history - I used to post on IMOC back in the days when it wasn't as flash as the forum is now ! But then I bought a modified TT Supra to replace the MR2, problem was having spent so much time, effort and money on the '2 that I couldn't bring myself to sell it [-( So a year after buying the Supra, I sold it.

Anyway, I'm back on the mod. trail with my old Rev 1, and I recently treated it to a controversial colour change :?: I don't like the flippy trippy colour changing Novas, but I wanted it to be different. It was originally black

Picked it up from the bodyshop a couple of nights ago, and I have yet to polish it and take proper pics, but this is just a couple of quick pics taken when I got home with it.

I know not everyone will like it, but I love it and it looks SO much better in the flesh. It was a proper windows out respray and I'm well pleased with the effect and the quality of the work.

Oh, and it's not very standard underneath either

I'll take better pics this weekend. I've still got a few minor bits to sort like clear side repeaters etc but we're getting there.

Cheers

Exactly what I was aiming for, thanks bud. I like the lines of the MR2, so I just updated mine to look like a Rev 3 plus added the Toms scoop for improved airflow to the air intake (honest  ) 17" wheels and a clean but standout paintjob are enough for me (for now).

Now I can go back to concentrating on the engine

Currently it's...

Engine:
Rebuilt engine with steel rods, head gasket and competition forged pistons
Stage 5 Hybrid CT26 courtesy of Dino whilst he was at Owens. (T4 compressor and 8degree turbine trim)
2 additional injectors to intake (one switchable), 'oldskool' I know but I'm gonna get a better setup than this soon.
Blitz Nur spec exhaust and gutted cat.
HKS Induction kit
Walbro 255 fuel pump
Other stuff too but that's the basic idea. Cooling is to be addressed but I really don't know whether to go CC/IC/WC or all of the above !!!

Chassis:
Ohlins Gold coilovers, TRD ARB's and poly bushes.
Strut braces front and engine bay.
ABS and LSD already on the car.
Porterfield pads all round and Goodridge brakelines

Electrics:
Greddy Boost gauge and HKS 2 stage boost controller - set to 1.0bar and 1.2bar.
Blitz 'Access' ECU - but not for long.

Imminent shopping list:
Greddy Emanage Ultimate
Better injector setup, still undecided which.
Rev 3 brakes.
3" Downpipe.

I will take better pics of the car and post later in the week

And I suspect you'll be seeing more posts from me in the coming months :D

Cheers

I really like that... Not a colour that springs to mind when wanting a respray so im sure our going to stay pretty much individual... Looks spot on. 10/10

Certainly is

I was going to go for something darker and with more of a gold pearl in it, but that would have been a one off colour. Practicality reared it's ugly head and so I decided on a colour I could get hold of should I scratch it, have a ding etc. So Vauxhall Tropical Green it is.
