With headwork, a better inlet and WI, I would expect 450-500bhp to be relatively reliable on a freshly-built stock 3SGTE bottom end. The issue was having to force 2.3 bar through the engine in order to get the most out of the turbo.

One thing it does show, adding to the results that T.F.S attained, is that the paper head gasket is definitely not a weak point. It was a nasty rusty mess in the waterways as well. A very unloved engine :D

I rarely read threads of this nature as they're often a carbon copy of what someone else has previously done. It's rare that people try something new. Thanks for sharing.

How was you getting any airflow through the intercooler?
TOTB 2010 Rwd top speed, 1/4 and shootout winner.
10.7@142 on R888 street tyres, 10.3@134mph on slicks,
9's on slicks to come, with a clean full throttle pass! Goal of 0-150mph in a 1/4 of a mile....

Scoop in the boot floor and a massive electric fan. Wasn't enough for the boost required to make the power though. Fine up to 2 bar, but after that, IAT just soared.

Just got back on track with things Around here buddy... Very good results considering what was actually in it.. Madness and fair play!

That you going to rebuild now with forged pistons etc or just replace?
