[Mk2] [Turbo] Indicator problem

Post by lee66 »

Hi all, was driving home last night and everything was fine and then next time I turned the indicators decide to start flashing fast.

So I pulled over, got out and checked that all bulbs were working (which they are.)
I pressed the hazard button and they all flash at the correct speed.
My left indicators all flash at the correct speed.
My right indicators flash at least twice as fast.

Am I right in thinking the relay has gone faulty? Not sure how to check it? (tbh im not even sure which one it is lol).

Any help would be great :thumleft:
Cheers, Lee

flasher relay is under the dash - look above the acc pedal where the door loom plugs are just above there by a mini fuse panel

There must be something wrong with the bulbs or wiring on the right side. Why immediately blame the flasher when only half the system is causing you a problem?

Well tbh im not really sure where to start and because all the bulbs are working and they flash at the correct speed with the hazards on I kind of assumed it could be the relay?
Should I start by pulling the bulbs out and checking the wiring?

Dont have time today (start work soon) but will hopefully get chance to look in the morning.

Cheers for any help :thumleft:

Sorted it out this morning before work was nice and simple :thumleft:

You was right though mate it was the wiring. The connector for the headlamp needed cleaning up abit, also bought some new bulbs yesterday so I put them in aswell, tested it and all is working perfect :thumleft:

Thanks for the replys 8)
