we have a missing pipe on the top of our engine and we cant quite figure out where it is ment to go to or what it is for!!
we have a dodgy idol, could this be the problem?
I have a picture but cant upload it as don't have enough posts!!

You can see in the pic that one of the vacuum pipes on throttlr body is missing you can feel and hear it hissing....

I've not got an na engine to look at for reference but I'm pretty sure that the pipe going to the outlet next to that should be on there. At the moment it looks like the pipe has been attached to a blanking cap (the darker black short section of pipe - you'll probably find the end of it is closed off if you take the hose off it)

The tube should be connected to the right pipe and the left pipe should have a blanking plug on it.

Thanks guy. Swapped that round this morning, as like you say the other one has a suction on it, it lasted longer before the idol started searching so still need to keep thinking of what else it could be! Thanks for all the advice xx

if your revs are surging and your rev counter is bouncing there is air in your system it needs bleeding
