First MRtwo

Post by StealthSteve »

I've taken the plunge as soon as i found one that was realistic, but I have a couple of questions if anyone is able to answer them?

This is the car:

Is this spoiler normal for a Rev2?:

It has 2 of these stickers one, I'm presuming it's just something a previous owner has put on for the sake of it?:

..can't link pics yet sorry, here's the album:

Rev3/4 spoiler:

Rev5 spoiler:

Can't tell anything about the stickers, cuz I can't see them, but would say those are personal yes.

Sorry,

few specs:

K reg, 89Kmiles and fairly tidy.
Not perfect, but mechanically sound and no car of this type is perfect unless silly money is paid - but I wanted a project to make my own.

Standard pretty much everything.. even down to stereo. (which doesn't work)

you appear to have a rev2 car with a rev3/4 rear spoiler and 'special' stickers.

if its a factory rev2 then the holes in the rear quarters for the rev2 spoiler extensions have been filled in and painted over, however i did break a rev2 once that had a ducktail spoiler and that didnt have any signs of the holes being filled and painted over. In fact it even had the indentations for the later rev3 lights (the ones for the reversing lights in the centre panel) in the rear panel.

Is this colour common?
And did this colour come in Rev3/4 form to allow a straight bootlid(spoiler)swap or has it had work done to make it look that way?

Yep, Rev 2 colour only(though have seen a Rev 1/H reg this colour, must have been a very late one) latest one's are L reg, still Rev 2.

Can see they've painted the side splitters, get the sills/front splitter colour coded, best mod you can, upgrades the look alot. :D

If you're looking to keep it original you'll soon find a rev2 in that colour being broken in that section if you keep an eye out and wanted to go back to the better looking rev2 spoiler.

Your first mid engined RWD?

Welcome to ownership by the way, great cars.

Colour coding is on the to do list, tho i prefer the Rev3 spoiler.

I want to keep a set of spare stock parts so i can mod it slightly to showcar condition as i want but have the options of turning it back - winner.
