Best quality radiator for Rev5 import

Post by synXero »

As above.

I know you can get aluminium or copper, I've read a bit about each too. What's the opinions? I hear import radiators are a bit smaller than UK radiators? Can I fit the larger one for the sake of it?

I want one with all the proper bleed valves. I don't want to buy this new from Toyota because of the astronomical cost.

eBay rad kit with dual fans is a decent kit.

Which ones did you buy?

Edit - I believe mishimoto make a very high quality radiator.

Just out of curiosity do the ebay ones and mishimato radiators fit perfect with no modifications?

I've got a decent OEM one that came off my rev3 turbo if you like, it's in top nick. I've been keeping it as a spare, but I could do with some cash- so a decent offer and it's yours if you want to go down that route :thumleft:

(I swapped it out for a mishimoto btw)

The aluminium £96 job including fans/shroud.

Thanks for all the comments folks. I think eBay rads may be an option. The alternative is MR2Ben's offering.

Does the Mishimoto one have all the same bleed valves etc? Exactly the same as an OEM radiator?

I believe I bought the same rad as you, but upon questioning the seller of the dual fan kits he wouldn't commit to saying whether it would fit the rad and that "Some modification including welding and fabricating" may be required, not up for any of that so gave it a miss.

I didn't enjoy screwing on old rusty fans onto my nice shiny new radiator though.

My shroud/fans fitted straight on, no problems with fitting.

I wouldn't have wanted to put my rusty, 19 year old fans on a shiny new rad either!

Bought MR2 Ben's offering, trust it will be good.

Mishimoto looked good but at £100 premium, I thought I'd leave it. Didn't buy new fans and shroud - not sure if I should've.

Ebay rad and fans are tried and tested. 1800 miles round trip to Lemans and back. Perfect. :thumleft:

MR2Ben one looks fine.

Can you link to the one you bought at all? There's quite a few on there, MR2Ben's being one of them.

Just checked, there doesn't seem to be any one there at the moment, apart from a fan shroud on its own for £760.
