[Mk2] [Generic] Best looking spoiler for Mk2?

Post by smashing666 »

Hey guys,

Need some ideas on what's out there for the mk2. I've currently got a rev 5 spoiler on mine but I'm thinking of either de-spoilering it, or possibly something nice and sleak (duck tail, rocket bunny style etc)

Had a quick look around but haven't really found anything that hits the spot. The alternative is to adapt something from another car onto the mr2 boot :)

Cheers,

Julian!

Mine came fitted with a Rev 5 rear spoiler which I removed as I prefer the lines of the car without a wing.

Links HERE to most of the aftermarket aero parts available.

The TOMS lower lip spoiler is one of the most subtle options.

Gen3-4 spoiler if your car looks stock.

Ducktail if you have the Toms kit.

Or the Bomex drift wing if you have awesome wheels and kit.

Planning to drop it before the spoiler switch, but this is what I'm working with :) (pic in post below)

Rev5 is a nice look though dude. Rev1/2 is the original and sleekest looking that matches the lines of the car if you ask me, but who wants to make the car look older? I don`t think it matters anymore personally, they are all so old now who cares, just plonk on whatever you prefer.

I`d stick with the rev 5 to be honest if it`s already there, never been a fan of spoilerless although people do pay over the odds for an old FE bootlid to save filling the holes the spoiler leaves. I think they look better with one on. There will be a load of spoilerless MR2 pics posted now probably.. that all look beautiful. But still, they would be even nicer with a spoiler! :D

I hate to say it but seeing as you asked for me the best spoiler for the SW20 is the rev 1/2 one -it's the only one which was made for the car and doesn't look like a "bolt on".

...Anyhow -if I had the choice I'd either go for spoiler-less or a small duck tail like Nic posted. I have a TRD spoiler on my widebody and it makes rear vis a bit worse (it's always right-bang in the way), it's the only thing about the car for me which makes it look lairy.

My favourite spoiler has to be the Bomex drift

Close one between Rev1+2 and the rev 3+4 for me. Both follow the lines of the car really well.

The rev5 after having one on my old car for a while I now consider a complete disaster

If going aftermarket the rev1+2 Aeroware is very subtle but effective and there is a raised rev3+4 one but cannot remember what make it is. Rarer than rocking horse poo.

Rookie and Bomex do a raised version of the rev3/4 spoiler.

Any pics of this style? I was thinking of the mad psi ducktail carbon one but it is 750 dollars!

I'm thinking the Rookie spoiler will be around the same amount of money, but you do get a lot more spoiler :eye:
