Hi,
Decided to do the belt on my rev3 turbo today. Job started well initially, crank pulley nut off, drive belts off. Engine mount out (nice sticker on the bottom, they are TRD ones! Result) Any way I cannot for the life of me get the engine bracket off. It just gets wedged against chassis! I have jacked up the engine as much as possible. Am I doing something stupid here???? any pointers appreciated!!

That's the one matey
Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Timing belt change
if you have the engine mount off at that side, you need to lower the engine as much as possible on that side and it will come out.
Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Timing belt change
Yes engine mount is off, bolts out of bracket and the little bu88er is just floating about! lower? To be honest I didn't try that as every guide and Toyota manual said raise the engine?
Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Timing belt change
Nah mate- you need to drop the engine as far as you can to get that bu88er out, last time I did it I even had the north / south mounts off as well and the engine on a jack to drop it down- but that's with the 5S block
Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Timing belt change
Cheers lads, down she goes tomorrow then!!! I was kinda thinking it needed coming down a bit as the crank pulley looks too tight to come off t the mo!
Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Timing belt change
Yep- I needed to drop it for the pulley to come off as well

The arm and the lower cover come off together.unbolt lower cover, rotate arm anti clockwise, remove cover, remove arm.
