For Sale - Forged Rev 2 Turbo *£2800*

Post by Craig_'2 »

Unfortunately the time has come to sell my Mr2 Turbo as I have decided I want a dedicated weekend/track car.

The car is a 1992 Rev 2 Turbo, it was imported in 1999 and has been well looked after since it was imported and has a huge stack of paper work, which documents the cars history since it arrived in the UK.

The car is very clean underneath with no rust and is mechanically sound. I have driven this car daily since I bought it in January this year and it has not missed a beat. It has always been warmed up & cooled down correctly & has only ever been run on V-Power/Momentum 99 during my ownership.

It has approximately 70k miles on the clock - the clocks were changed a few years ago, however I have all the previous MOT's to back this mileage up - it still reads in KM's and is limited to 112mph!

MOT Feb 2014
Tax till end of June 2013

The full spec is as follows:

Engine:
Rev 2 turbo engine
Wossner pistons - 86.00mm, 8.5-1 comp
Ferrea competition exhaust valves
Clevite main bearing kit
Clevite 77 big end bearing kit
Clevite race bearings - thrust washers
Cosmetic head gasket - 1.4mm
Head bolts replaced
Magnecore 5mm leads
Grade 7 iridium plugs
CT20b turbo
Berk downpipe
Japspeed exhaust
Blitz SUS intake
ST205 charge cooler with 17l/pm marine pump (replaced the air con rad)
Gizzmo boost controller (set to just under 1 bar)
HKS FCD (this is fitted to the ECU but has not been wired in, the car still operates with the factory boost cut at 16 psi)
Hel braided clutch line

Chassis:
Spax springs
Black Bilstein struts
Polybushed
T-bar rear cross brace
Cusco front & rear braces
Tein tension rods
TRD top mounts
Yellow stuff pads (front)
EBC grooved & drilled discs (front)

Interior:
Half leather seats
Sony headunit
Sony 6x9's in the rear
Momo Corse Wheel

Exterior:
Rev 3 rear lights with quad conversion (UK spec half moons)
3rd brake light
Rev 1/2 rear spoiler
Black front indicator/sidelight units, with custom LED & indicator conversion

Wheels & tyres:
Lenso D1R's 17x8 & 17x9 - black with red pinstripe
245/40/17 Continental Sport Contact 5's
215/4017 Toyo T1R's

Within the last month it has had:
A pair of brand new Continental Sport Contact 5's (245/40/17)
Oil service - Fuchs Titan Pro S 10w 50 & Genuine Toyota filter
Replacement rear tie rod

This is a great base if you want to make a 400bhp weekend monster or to keep it as it is with a few tweaks. In its current form it pulls very well, there's no smoke on or off boost and the engine burns very cleanly.

Overall it's a great car that will be missed.

I'm looking for £2800 ONO.

Ahh 2 previous owners!

Cvega - it really is a credit to you & Jon. I think turbos in general have gained a little value recently looking at what people are putting them up for, but now that you & Jon have posted up how good it is, it's now worth an extra £10,000

In all seriousness, who ever buys it at whatever price is agreed, will get a bargain :thumleft:

Couple more pics I found:

Is this still for sale?

Also, how many miles has the engine done? And who carried out the work on it?

Hiya,
I bought the car after the enigne was rebuilt by the previous owner himself, a chap called Nick who at the time worked as a master mechanic for BMW.

There was plenty receipts from Fensport and other suppliers for the parts used in the rebuild...

here's my project thread when I bought the car :

Ahh ok, thanks for that. With the amount of receipts in your name I thought it was you who did the work

Thanks for the info :thumleft:

Slight change of events - it may still be available.

Unfortunately the car blew a knock sensor on the way home today - the engine is still running perfectly, idles spot on, off boost it runs sweet as a nut with no funny noises at all and drives spot on. There is no knock from the engine at all, it sounds exactly the same as before the sensor went, but obviously it pulls the timing when more throttle is applied as the ECU has detected a fault from the sensor.

I haven't heard from the person who's offer I accepted (I have made them fully aware of the situation) but obviously if they decide against the car then it'll be available again, obviously once I've fixed the sensor issue - I have just ordered a replacement from GTS Chris :thumleft:

It would happen the day before the car is due to be viewed/picked up! #-o

Kind of killed my car swapping weekend! #-o :(
