Re: Track day crash
This crash would appear to occur about a month from now...
Very unlucky but looks like a light impact - a little bit of bashing (technical term) and a new bumper and she'll go again no problems.

Well you know what happens when you hit 88mph, luckily the flux capacitor was only set to plus one month

That is amazing
Such a shame about the car though mate. It didn't handle that gravel well at all. Hope you get it sorted... Is there more damage than the rear bumper?
Re: Track day crash
bumper cover, slam panel underneath, light unit, boot lid, at least i#ll get the de-spoliered look out of it!

Damn
It's the worst feeling ever when you know it's let go and you're basically a passenger waiting to find out how bad it's going to be

Re: Track day crash
My biggest fear about doing track days but its still safer than driving quickly on the public roads. Ten times more enjoyable as well!
You getting it fixed up? Is it a track car/weekend toy or your daily drive?

Yeah, shes getting fixed up ofc, not too bad really, bumper light etc, I thought
I would let my mate drive at Blyton as there is (almost) nothing to hit! He managed a lap and a half, hey ho.
Not a daily driver fortunately, I walk to work!
Re: Track day crash
Unlucky chap! Looks like you chose to have a little spin near the only wall.

Unlucky. I was sprinting at Blyton the week before and let a mate be second driver.
I was stood in the paddock on his first run (before I'd even had a go) watching him have a similar moment where for a moment he was heading for that wall head first. He managed to save it though.

Re: Track day crash
Gutted !!
Very nice car as well.
I was at blyton last month, lost it the corner after this and the corner just before the pit lane.
Looks like your mate dropped a wheel in the dirt that threw him off

Unlucky hitting the gravel. Nice smooth driving though. Could do with a softer back end, squirrelling around all over the place when you're exiting the corners.

Re: Track day crash
Hi Deano, saw you at Blyton last year, me and my son each had a red MR2 do you remember? It's your worst nightmare having a crash on a track day but the main thing is you are both OK. Had your mate driven a turbo before? They can be quite a handful to the uninitiated can't they? My son drove my turbo in the wet at Blyton back in March and spun it right in front of me near the start line, I must admit I was a bit worried (expletives removed!) Hope to see you again there once you get the car sorted.
Re: Track day crash
hey bud, hopefully getting her back later this week, new rear quarter, bumper etc. My mate is good for it fortunately, after much discussion the problem was that he didn#t appreciate going over the gravel would cause an issue.....hey, we all live and learn
He'll never live it down!
I didn't want to let him lose at Cadwell because there is too much to hit...
