neil turbos mk1 re birth

Post by mk1 dal »

hi all . this new project is Neils 400+ bhp sprint road car and its stupid quick but it always lacked in looks what it has in pure petrol heaven power . around 6 weeks ago Neil dropped is car off with loads of body kit bits witch included a very rare rear spoiler , wood sport engine lid and a second hand rare kit ripped of a mk1 . wtf was my first thought as Neil explained he wanted the kit to look oem and not filled to the bodywork . loving a challenge and 2 years of talking and planing a make over for the car and collecting bits for the project its finally happened and it stunning \:D/ .

to the beginning .

the body kit is a mess , nothing fits and its back to almost remolding the kit to shape . the kit original fitted in to the sills under the door but the clearance gap is to small and the door catches ,plan f cut the kit like the original side skirts and re build the kit to follow the body profile on the door shuts . the arches had to be filled and shaped to the body work to form nice tight lines then the whole kit had brackets with studs bonded on to bolt the kit on to the bodywork ( 100 hours to do the work ) .

repaired the rot in arch and add bigger flange to fix the kit

and cut the rear grill out and sorted the bottom of the bumper edge to show the stunning exhaust off

Gary you have been an absolute legend throughout this project :thumleft: thank you mate!

Cant wait to get some detailed pictures up as the photos really dont do justice the level of detail that has gone into this :thumleft:
